Bringing you some news this week on a few games courtesy of the Paris Games Week showcase event. We’ve got an update on Monster Hunter: World’s beta kick-off date. There will also be a unique item exclusively for PS4 console owners. A PlayStation 4 exclusive with a bit of Samurai action makes its trailer debut (and it looks pretty awesome). Finally, a new The Last of Us 2 trailer that is nothing short of savage.

Monster Hunter: World PS4 Exclusive and Beta Date

The first beta for Monster Hunter: World will begin on Dec. 9 as revealed by Sony during its Paris Games Week showcase event. PlayStation 4 owners are treated to a pretty awesome exclusive feature once it goes live as they’ll get to play Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. In the trailer below, we are given a quick tease at the competent dinosaur hunter’s appearance in Monster Hunter: World.

However, Aloy will only be available to PS4 console owners and not during the beta.  The beta will be accessible to players across all platforms and officially launches on Jan. 26 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

Here’s the trailer:

Ghost of Tsushima, A New Open-World Samurai PS4 Exclusive

The Last of Us 2’s Brutal Trailer

One of the most brutal, if not the most brutal trailer for a game comes to us courtesy of Sony during the Paris Games Week showcase. The Last of Us 2’s second trailer is quite visceral for a game in terms of visuals. It’s not HBO quality devastation but for a game, it does the trick quite nicely.

The trailer treats us to someone being hanged, faces being pierced by arrows, a young girl getting her “wings clipped”, and other avenues of blood and violence. Though violent, the trailer is just as beautiful and to be frank, The Last of Us wasn’t exactly a walk amongst the rainbows either.
